Projects

You are now a visitor on VGBC's first project, V-SCCAN, or the Vietnam Sustainable Climate Change Adaptation (SCCA) Network.
VGBC's 2008 SCCA research is primarily focused on developing usable and effective sustainable (green) building benchmarks for Vietnam. These benchmarks will include measures for climate change adaptation, a serious issue for this nation, one of the most threatened in the world with regard to climate change.
Other projects will study climate change adaptive capacity in urban areas and alternative techniques for water sanitation and supply, such as solar desalinization, rain harvesting, and wind power for auxiliary power needs.

In addition to its ongoing SCCA research efforts, VGBC is also
1) building partnerships with a wide range of business in preparation for the launch of its SCCA certification and training programs;
2) launching member services;
3) coordinating efforts with government research bodies;
4) raising operational and project funds;
5) acting as adviser for the sustainable Tri Viet University project; and
6) assisting the Vietnam NGO Climate Change working group.
